Carolyn G. Jones, President, and Edward G. Jones, Executive Vice President, founded
C. J. Health Records Consulting Services (CJHR) of Chattanooga in 1980 to provide health information
management services to area health care providers. CJHR was incorporated in 1987 in the state of
Tennessee. CJHR's phenomenal growth positioned the company to broaden its services, which resulted
in a name change to C. J. Enterprises, Inc. (CJE). CJE provides employment for over 100
employees and consultants, in several states, including Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana and Ohio.
Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Mrs. Jones was Program Director of the Medical Record
Technology Program at Chattanooga State Technical Community College. She developed and designed the
first medical record technology program in Chattanooga, from its inception. The program received
accreditation from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and American
Medical Association (AMA).
Mrs. Jones is a graduate of Emory University and is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
She holds several positions in professional organizations and donates her time to
many worthy causes in the community. She is currently a charter member of the National Coalition of
100 Black Women Chattanooga Chapter, member of the Minority Health Coalition-Economic Development
Committee, board member of the Tennessee Multicultural Chamber of Commerce, advisory board
member of the Women's Leadership Institute and a Chattanooga Leadership Graduate.
Mrs. Jones has presented numerous workshops across the United States and for various agencies and
associations, including the National Association of Community Health Centers and the various State
Primary Care Associations. She has been presented with several awards, which include:
